I just adopted a puppy on Dec. 16. I haven't decided on a name yet. The APL was calling her Tootsie, but I am not a big fan of that, neither was another customer, or my mom. She is a German Shepard/Mix, not sure what she is mixed with, but it is something like a rot, or doberman. They told me she was 5 months old, so I am guessing she was born about July. She seems to be a very energetic puppy, but very willing to sleep. Her first day home was a long one, so maybe that explains the sleep. Enjoy the pictures.

Ok, so I finally decided on calling her Sammy. I had three people suggest it, and it's a simple enough name. I also have come to realizt that I do not like the Cleveland APL. This is only the second time I have had the opportunity to deal with them, and both cases they left me less then satisfied. My first dealing is when I was about 18, I had a white shepard that I could no longer keep. I was living in Euclid at the time, so I took her to the Cleveland APL. While I was there waiting for my chance to talk to someone, a little kid walked by and slapped my dog. So like any natural reaction my dog barked at the stranger eho just assulted him. The APL didn't care why it happened, they just decided that because of that they were going to put him down, so my dog and I left the APL. This time it is by adopting a dog from them. Seeing how she acts in some situations, like when she eats, makes me question how they care for their dogs. I found out on New Year's Eve that she doesn't chew her food. When she eats she walks up to the bowl, grabs what she can in her mouth, she at least has stopped running from the bowl, but she still carries her food away, and then sucks it down as fast as she can.To me this loks like they just drop a bowl of food in the middle of the cage, and let the dogs go at it. Now mind you she is just a 5 month old puppy, who weighed only 20lbs. when I got her. I think she has grown quite fast, might have something to do with the fact she is actually eating now.
