Beef Roast
Simple beef roast. Tender. Juicy. Meat. Another long search on the internet turned up nothing. I found special rubs, exotic sauces, and carrots! I used butter, garlic, pepper, and oregano.
Ingredients
- 2-4 lbs. Shoulder Roast
- Garlic Powder
- Salt
- Pepper
- Oregano
- 6 Tbsp. Butter
Tools
- Vegetable Oil
- Frying Pan
- Aluminum Foil
- Small Sauce Pan
- 6x9 Deep Roast Pan
- Cutting Board
- Big Knife
- Meat Thermometer
Directions
- Preheat oven to 300
- Pour about 1/4" deep vegetable oil in frying pan
- Turn the heat up high on frying pan
- quickly brown each side of the roast, also known as searing
- put roast in 6x9 deep pan - by deep I mean 2" or deeper, if you have one that closes tightly then you can avoid foil.
- melt butter in sauce pan - low to medium heat butter burns easy
- add 2 Tbsp. of garlic powder to butter
- pour garlic butter all over the roast
- sprinkle salt, pepper, and oregano over roast
- cover tightly with aluminum foil, or top made for pan
- bake in oven for 2 1/2 to 3 hours, or until inside temperature is at least 170
- meat should fall apart, but make sure you cut with the grain
